The Royal Wedding Accepting Charity Funds Instead of Gifts

Fashion Fame
Rather than accepting gifts for their upcoming wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton have created a charitable gift fund instead. Twenty six charities have been named which support causes that are "...close to their hearts and reflect the experiences, passions and values of their lives so far. Having been touched by the goodwill shown to them since their engagement, they have asked that anyone wishing to send them a wedding gift consider doing so in the form of a donation to the fund,” as reads their official charity funding site.

The charities listed include charities concerned with conservation, such as those who protect the endangered Black rhino and greater one-horned rhino; the Sumatran tiger, Indian tiger and Amur tiger; the African forest elephant and Asian elephant and Earth Watch.

Other charities listed cover a wide range of areas from support for Services personnel and their families, helping children overcome adversities and fulfill their potential, helping those dealing with anxiety, or illness, to the support of charities who help others through sports and art.
